Fireman's Fund Heritage Grant in Tennessee

 Fireman's Fund and Frost Specialty LLC last
month awarded the Brentwood Fire Department a
grant of nearly $30,000 to help the department
upgrade their existing equipment and make new
purchases of an additional thermal imaging
camera and turnout gear.
The new thermal imaging camera will have the
latest technology to allow firefighters to "see"
through smoke and find victims quickly. The new
turnout gear, which includes boots, suspenders,
helmets and protective hoods will keep
firefighters well protected when responding to a
fire call."We are very excited to be receiving this generous grant
from Frost Specialty and Fireman's Fund Insurance
Company," said Department Chief Kenny Lane. "The funds
will enable us to bring our existing self-contained
breathing apparatus (SCBA) into full compliance with all
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
The technological enhancements will include a display
inside their masks that alerts firefighters to the
amount of breathing air they have remaining in their
unit. Enhancements also include a lightweight rope and
carabineer for a firefighter to escape through a window
if needed.
These additions will really make a difference
in keeping our firefighters safe."
Frost Specialty selected the Brentwood Fire Department
to be the grant recipient in an effort to keep local
residents in the surrounding communities better
protected. "We're h appy to offer this grant to our
friends at the Brentwood Fire Department," said Robert

make it difficult for fire departments to get the
equipment and training they need. We know this grant
will go a long way in making our firefighters and
